College of Horticulture and Landscape


College of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of SWU was established in 1950. Its history can be traced back to 1950.

The college consists of horticulture department, Landscape Architecture department, urban planning department and botany department. Now there are 92 teaching and administrative staffs, including 14 professors, 19 associate professors and 24 lecturers. 7 of them are doctor's tutors and 32 of them are master’s tutors.

The college consists of three key disciplines at provincial level (olericulture, pomology and Landscape Architecture), three key laboratories at provincial level, four Doctor Degree-Conferring Disciplines (Pomology, Vegetable Science, Flower Science and Tea Science) and seven Master Degree-Conferring Disciplines (Pomology, olericulture, Ornamental Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Botany, Cell Biology and Ecology).

The college includes three undergraduate majors (Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning). There are 1,700 students, including more than 100 doctor and master postgraduates, and 1600 undergraduates. To date, more than 12000 students have graduated from the college. Among them, 150 have acquired PhD degrees and more than 400 have acquired Master degrees.

Scientific research of the college has made a great achievement, and has acquired more than 800 scientific research items since its foundation, including province level project, national natural science fund project, “863” plan program, “973” project and so on.

The college has published more than 2500 scientific research papers, and 50 teaching publications and popular science readings, and obtained more than 30 scientific rewards.
